When you’re walking alone at night through a park and you hear a large noise in the bush, your first thought is usually:
I’m about to die.
Especially if you’re female. That’s definitely your first thought.
I was no exception to that. Especially when my pup started barking. Growling in that too-cute way that only puppies can.
He was so small, and a cockapoo on top of that. There wasn’t an ounce of him that was scary. Not a single bit.
The thing in the bushes didn’t seem to disagree.
As I stood there, hoping it was a rabbit or a cat or a possum, it emerged.
And it wasn’t any of those things.
It was worse.
Much, much worse.
Really, it only reaffirmed my fears:
I was going to die. Continue reading “Top Dog”
Honestly, I hated this. Every moment of it.
You have to do what you have to do. Especially when what you have to do is stop yourself from killing others.
Being a Werewolf 101:
You go crazy on full moons. Whether you want to or not, and you’ll probably end up killing someone.
Being a Werewolf 102, though:
Witches can help.
They’re a pain in the ass, and they’re crazy, and mostly smell like moss and stinky cheese.
They can help.
You just have to live long enough to get the help, that’s all. Continue reading “Sticky Situation”
A hunter’s job is to hunt.
That’s a given.
We don’t spend our days in the woods to come out empty handed. We’ve got mouths to feed—namely, our own—and finding nothing makes for a pretty boring day anyhow.
But there are certain things we don’t expect to find.
Certain things we don’t want to run into.
And certain things we’d never even think we’d ever run into.
Like a wolf in wolf’s clothes.
That was a new one for me. Continue reading “Wolf in Wolf’s Clothes”
A wonderful man named George reminded me that I ought to do a book update, so you can all thank George for this one.
And I can, too:
Thanks George! Continue reading “BOOK UPDATE”
Chains are not all physical.
Never forget that.
Never let anyone tell you you don’t have it bad. That you’re easy to understand. That your life is easily lived. Not if you’ve seen things. Not if you’ve been to places so dark a flashlight couldn’t help. Don’t let people tell you you’re overdramatic, or that your life could be fixed in a heartbeat. Because, even if that’s true, it isn’t in the moment, is it?
Chains are not all physical.
You can be free and still be a prisoner. Chained to that thing that happened, or that thing that you want, or that person you’ve got. Things aren’t always so easy. Being liberated isn’t an exact science.
Because there’s always something that can tie you down. Continue reading “Get Free”
“It’s not that bad this time, I swear.”
“Oh yeah? Well, I guess that could be true. I mean, compared to last time, anyhow. That was really bad.”
“It wasn’t—!—it wasn’t that bad,” I finished, my fire downed down as I mumbled the words.
Really, last time had been awful.
Just not as awful as it could have been, that’s all.
Which didn’t matter. Not now, not then, not in the future. Bad is still bad, right? And, either way, Howard didn’t know how bad it could get.
He just knew this was bad. Continue reading “Dark Secrets”
Into the Wilderness
If you’re new here (or maybe you just haven’t heard) I’ll tell you a secret.
I wrote a book!
Alright, so it’s not a secret. It’s clearly on the internet and viewable by anyone who desires to view it. So, not a secret.
But I digress.
I haven’t done an update about it in a while, so here are the stats:
Continue reading “Another Book Update :)”
I think I was just tired.
Tired of the fear.
Tired of the waiting.
Tired of trying to gain something that never really mattered in the first place. Something I didn’t need to find with them. Something that was more easily found elsewhere.
I was probably just tired. Continue reading “Tired”

I have had a week man. Like, a week. It has been exhausting. After this, I’m going to take a nap because this is my first day off in six days, and I worked three of the four jobs I have this past week, so I am exhausted.
But, before I do take a nap, I figured I’d do an update.
So, here we go: Continue reading “BOOK UPDATE”
